Unbecoming is about carving away what no longer belongs. It reflects the tension, release, and clarity that emerge when we return to who we were meant to be, before noise, expectation, and accumulated layers took hold.
The painting developed through a slow, deliberate process of building and removing. Areas of the surface bear visible scratches from sandpaper, left intentionally as evidence of abrasion and undoing. These rough edges are not flaws but part of the language of the piece, reinforcing the idea of unbecoming as an active, sometimes uncomfortable shedding of what no longer serves.
Its depth and composition reveal themselves gradually, inviting sustained looking and creating space for reflection and a quiet return to what feels most true.
